The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the CUET UG 2025 results soon on its official website — cuet.nta.nic.in. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) was conducted between May 13 and June 4, 2025, across multiple shifts and cities, with over 13.5 lakh candidates appearing for the exam.
The final answer key has already been released, with 27 questions dropped, paving the way for the result declaration.
🔍 How Is the CUET UG 2025 Normalised Score Calculated?
Due to multiple exam shifts with varying difficulty levels, the NTA uses a normalisation process to ensure fairness. Here's how the score is derived:
Step 1: Percentile Score Calculation
For each subject taken in multiple shifts:
- Raw Score (A): Candidate’s actual marks.
- Number of candidates ≤ A (B): Candidates scoring equal to or below A in that session.
- Total candidates in session (C): Number of students in that particular shift.
Percentile Score Formula:
(B ÷ C) × 100
📌 Example:
If a candidate scores 121 in a session of 41,326 students, and 37,244 students score equal to or less:
(37,244 ÷ 41,326) × 100 = 90.1224411%
Percentiles are calculated up to seven decimal places.
🔄 Step 2: Interpolated Marks & Final Normalised Score
- Candidates are ranked based on percentile scores.
- Using linear interpolation, an interpolated mark is calculated to estimate what the candidate would have scored had they taken the same test again.
- The normalised raw score is calculated by dividing actual raw marks by interpolated marks.
This system ensures fairness across different exam sessions and is the only score used by universities for admission merit lists.
